FREE TFT (FT3,FT4,TSH)
A free or total triiodothyronine (free T3 or total T3) test is used to assess thyroid function. It is ordered primarily to help diagnose hyperthyroidism and may be ordered to help monitor treatment of a person with a known thyroid disorder.Free thyroxine (FT4) is T4 that is not bound to proteins in the blood; as such, this blood test is not affected by protein levels and is therefore a more reliable
measurement of T4 levels in the blood.
