HUMAN LEUKOCYTE ANTIGEN, HLA B-27 PCR
Human leukocyte antigen B27 (HLA-B27) is a major histocompatibility complex class 1 molecule that is strongly associated with the disease ankylosing spondylitis.Testing for HLA B27 is of diagnostic value because 90% of patients with ankylosing spondylitis have the B27 antigen. The outcome of this test must always be correlated with history, clinical significance of the patient and other pertinent data and should not be used alone for the interpretation of result.
Please Note:
1. The results of this report need to be interpreted by a qualified medical professional.
2. Each technology has a limitation and hence it is advised to corroborate the results with different techniques or through repeat sampling if indications persist
3. Same technique/lab is advisable for follow up testing during treatment
4. Although all precautions are taken during molecular genetic tests, the currently available data indicate that the technical e molecular DNA analysis is approximately 2%.It is
important that all clinicians or persons requesting Molecular Diagnostic testing are aware of these data before acting upon the results.
5. The results assume that the sample is provided from this patient only and that all patient information provided is correct.
